Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they descended and took wives for themselves of all whom they chose and they bore children to them…there were giants on the earth in those days. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown. Genesis 6:1-4
nce upon a time, on the very earth that we call home, the world was full of high adventure – and great evil. All the now broken fragments of land were then one and covered with the works of men. Great and mighty works they were, because men had been lent by God the wisdom of ages. Under a sky of solid crystal, the great beasts of myth and legend grew to epic size towered over by endless oceans of green – forests of such vastness and terrible height as to hide the mightiest mountains. The very air of the firmament bred strength and the world breathed life.
But into this mythic balance was poured an ancient horror from ‘the beyond’. A rent had been made from our world to the next through which all the host of darkness passed. The ‘nameless ones’ took to themselves the men and beasts of the earth and twisted them into foul mockeries of what God Himself had wrought. In their great pride and rebellion, they reshaped the face of creation, but the land had already been cursed – for the deeds of men were no better.
As one great people the voice of man was lifted to heaven against God and his years, which then spanned the centuries, were corrupt. Sprawled and lofty cities of lore rose from the dust and dominion he rightful claimed over the earth. In arrogant brilliance, man set his heart to devise mechanical wonders, to harness the elemental forces and to probe the fabric of reality itself. But in vain God had given His final warnings and as the latter days of the second age of the earth drew to a close, the land was laden with adventure.
This is the age of MYTH, where all the great tales of old arose. It is a world lost to history, yet no less real than our own. The very rocks and soil of the Earth tell the tale and the souls of all mankind bears it out. Step now into the world of antiquity…
